Tawi Trekkers J&K holds one day trek

JAMMU, Feb 15: Keeping its policy of promoting heritage sites and lesser frequented beauty spots of Jammu, Tawi Trekkers J&K organized a day long trek of Devi Pindian for girls under the leadership of Sonam Sidharth.
The group of 114 participants including 102 girls was flagged off from Kala Kendra Jammu by co- chairman of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Zorawar Singh Jamwal. President of the Club Ram Khajuria and along with others office bearers also accompanied the trekkers.
The budding trekkers were pleasantly surprised when Everester Rajiv Sharma of Udhampur who climbed Everest about 27 years back in 1993 also joined them for the trek at Manthal along with his wife and daughter Himika, an international skier. The young trekkers were thrilled to learn so much about mountaineering and mountains during their interaction with the veteran mountaineer.

JAMMU, Dec 27: Amar Santosh Museum Udhampur and Himalayan Heritage Museum displayed rare artifacts during two-day Dogri Cuisine, Culture and Craft Festival, organized by J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu at Kala Kendra Jammu.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Secretary Tourism Samad Hafeez to encourage the tourism in Jammu after beating Corona. Anil Paba, Director Amar Santosh Museum Udhampur said that rare collections, including stone tools, stone utensil, terracotta and copper objects, old maps, historical weapons, traditional instruments besides manuscripts belonging to 13th century onwards in Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Shards, Gurumukhi, Takri scripts. Kalhana Rajtarangni and illustrated monuments were the main attraction of the exhibition, which depicted the rich culture of Dogr
