Niger is a state in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria and the largest state in the country.
The Niger State Government has distributed the second trench of relief material which includes food and non-food items to the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) from the Munya Local Government Area of the State.
The IDPs are taking refuge at the premises of the Model Primary School in the Gwada community of Shiroro Local Government Area of the state’s IDPs Camp.
Delivering the relief items in Minna, the state capital to the representatives of about 30 communities that made up the IDPs from Munya LGA was the Director-General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency,( NSEMA) Ahmed Inga.

There seems to be no respite for some communities in Niger State as bandits continue to raid villages, abduct residents and loot property.
A the weekend, the bandits were in another part of the Niger East senatorial district, where they wreaked havoc on innocent people.
During the invasion of Kuchi town in Munya Local Government Area by about 50 heavily-armed criminals, 17 people, including the father and mother of the former council Chairman, Malam Yahuza Abdullahi, were abducted.
Those kidnapped, according to a report from the area, also include a medical doctor, two nursing mothers and their two-week-old babies.

Bandits estimated at 50 have attacked Kuchi community in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State; kidnapping 17 persons in an operation that residents said lasted for over two hours.
It was gathered that those kidnapped during the Saturday attack included the parents of Yahuza Mohammed, a former chairman of the council; a medical doctor and two nursing mothers with their two-week-old babies.
A businessman, popularly known as Albakala, who had relocated from the community to Minna, the state capital, had four of his family members kidnapped.
A source told our correspondent on the telephone that the bandits overpowered the local vigilantes due to their large number.
