There are a few schools that Mandel has ranked lower that I think could hang with Alabama B. LSU (No. 9) has the talent to beat this group. (It might have the talent to beat actual Alabama this year.) Oregon could win as well. Alabama B’s offensive line probably would struggle to block Ducks defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and linebacker Noah Sewell.
But even if I drop Alabama B behind those teams, it’s still a top-10 squad. Ohio State B wouldn’t be far behind. And that’s what frustrates those who would like to see a little more variety at the top of the sport.

The second-year Alabama coach speaks highly of Quinerly’s potential in the context of his inspired play during Alabama’s 21-2 run.
“I think he’s one of the better point guards in the country,” Oats said Monday of Quinerly when he’s making smart decisions with the ball and with his shot selections.
It’s up to the coaching staff, Oats said, to put him in the right position to meet his capabilities. The Missouri game was Quinerly’s second straight in double figures scoring after netting nine total points in the three previous games. He had 22 at LSU on Jan. 19 when he nailed 6 of 7 shots from 3-point range.
