Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart will star in Crimes of the Future together.
The two actors have signed up to appear in David Cronenberg s upcoming sci-fi thriller, which tells the story of a popular performance artist whose act involves growing new organs in his body.
According to Deadline, the film is set in a distant future where humans have evolved beyond their “natural state and into a metamorphosis, altering their biological make-up” and so Saul Tenser embraces having Accelerated Evolution Syndrome, sprouting new organs in his body, with the removal of such body parts becoming a gruesome new kind of theatre - which as well as attracting a group of fans also catches the attention of the government.

Seberg), and Léa Seydoux (
Spectre) have officially signed on to star in Cronenberg’s newest sci-fi thriller, which is expected to start its production this summer in Athens, Greece.
“To work with David Cronenberg is to embark on a journey exploring terrain where no one has gone before,” producer Robert Lantos said in a statement. “Each of our collaborations has been an exhilarating adventure and David’s unwavering vision is what real cinema is all about.”

David Cronenberg has set his first directorial feature since 2014, “Crimes of the Future,” with a cast that includes Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart.
“Crimes of the Future” comes from Neon and Serendipity Point Films, with Neon set to release the sci-fi movie in the U.S. Production aims to kick off this August in Athens, Greece.
