PACE Launches New Programs For Businesses

PACE/Logo Provided Area businesses can now access new tools and supports through Patricia Area Community Endeavours. With COVID-19 throwing extra challenges towards businesses, PACE has launched three new programs that aim to help businesses thrive now and remain successful afterwards. Program Coordinator Jeremy Dutton talks about the Remote Access Technology program. “It’s meant to help small business adapt their business in new innovative ways, including funding to help adopt any relevant technology. That can be anything to help with remote work, an app that allows them to access their files when their away from their computer, anything to help with automation, social media marketing or anything to help entrepreneurs focus on their core business.”

New Economic Diversification Committee In Dryden

An Economic Diversification Advisory Committee has been formed in the City of Dryden. Chair Caroline Goulding talks about their mandate. “The group is tasked with trying to provide a conduit from the business community and community at large to City Council in terms of economic development.” Goulding adds, “We would be looking to further some of the City’s objectives in relation to economic development. It’s going to be a long-standing committee so there’s not a specific project that, you know once we accomplish it, the committee would stop existing.” Goulding says short-term goals include waterfront development and reviewing the previous 2015 Economic Development Strategic Plan.
