In this artist’s presentation, artist Marisa Morán Jahn shares her decade-long work with caregivers producing creative media, public art, and now architectural and urban-scale projects. Jahn and architect Rafi Segal will present their collaboration on Carehaus, the United States’ first care-based co-housing project and its related exhibition on view at the Blaffer Museum of Art.

Then, Houston s annual comic convention, Comicpalooza, will be returning in July this year after having to cancel in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. It s one of a small but growing number of examples of events trying to navigate the pandemic and hoping that vaccine distribution will reduce cases to the point that everyone can enjoy their event in person if in still some limited numbers and possibly still masked. Michael Heckman of Houston First explains how they hope to pull this off.
Get ready to boogie on the bayou or at least walk, jog or bike to the rhythm of classical music. ROCO has joined forces with Buffalo Bayou Partnership to provide a new experience along its banks. With ROCO on Buffalo Bayou, visitors can explore miles of trails lining the bayou to discover and scan QR codes posted at landmarks and public art works. Simply hover over each code with a camera app activated, and a link will appear. The link leads to a specific piece of music performed by ROCO, specially selected for each location or art installation and curated by the ROCO team.
