Black Hawks Beat Chicago in an Epic Comeback Saturday Night
Party Town was ROCKIN once again on Saturday night, in what could be easily described as the Black Hawks best (and most exciting) win of the year. Waterloo blasted 19 shots on the goal in the third period, and scored three times in about four minutes of game time to tie the score at 6-6, sending the contest into overtime.
SATURDAY NIGHT VS. CHICAGO
It sounded like the old days at Young Arena, with the building a little over half full of fans, (due to COVID-19 limitations) they made their presence known, standing on their feet and with their cow bells on full blast , Mason Reiners’ first USHL goal sent the crowd into a frenzy, producing a 7-6 overtime win against the league-leading Chicago Steel.
Black Hawks Finish 3 Game Weekend With a Shoot Out Win Over Omaha
It was a wild weekend for the Black Hawks with three games covering every edge of the emotional spectrum. From a heart-breaking loss on Friday night at Omaha, to a crazy game at Des Moines Saturday night where over 120 minutes in penalties were called, followed by an exhilarating shoot-out victory over the Lancers on Sunday afternoon in Party Town.
SUNDAY VS OMAHA
Former Omaha Lancer, Alex Gaffney started and finished a 4-3 shootout victory versus his ex-team, pushing the Black Hawks past the Lancers Sunday at Young Arena. In a thrilling finish, Gaffney snuck the puck past the Omaha goalie on a back-hander to bring Black Hawks fans to their feet in celebration (see the video below).
