The owners of a La Jolla vacation rental home that was alleged to host large, raucous parties amid the COVID-19 pandemic have reached a settlement with the city of San Diego, which took steps last year to shut down the rental.
The final legal agreement worked out by the San Diego city attorney’s office stipulates that the homeowners, Mousa Hussain Mushkor and Zahra Ali Kasim, be barred from “maintaining, causing or permitting” a public nuisance or allowing large gatherings in violation of public health orders related to COVID-19. The owners also are required to pay fines of more than $30,000 and to address multiple building code violations on the property.

The owners of two vacation rental homes that were accused of operating large, raucous parties amid the pandemic have reached settlements with the city of San Diego, which took steps last year to shut down the Airbnb rentals.
While the final legal judgments worked out by the San Diego City Attorney’s Office for the two properties in La Jolla and Bankers Hill differ in scope, both stipulate that the homeowners are barred from “maintaining, causing or permitting” a public nuisance or allowing large gatherings in violation of public health orders related to COVID-19. They also are required to each pay fines of more than $30,000 and to address multiple building code violations on their properties.
Multiple road projects to begin this week
JACKSONTOWN, Ohio The Ohio Department of Transportation reports multiple road closings begin this week in Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Morgan and Perry Counties.
In Muskingum County, State Route 284 will close Monday, April 5, for a slide repair between State Route 146 and Harmon Hollow Road, The estimated completion date is Monday, April 12.
In Guernsey County, the intersection of State Route 800 and Ginger Road will be closed to traffic Monday April 5, for a culvert replacement. State Route 800 and U.S. Route 22 will remain open during the project. It is a one-day closure only.
In Noble County, a tree trimming project begins April 5 on State Route 147, between State Route 566 and State Route 313. That section of the roadway will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, The project is expected to be completed April 30.
