Jamaica Art Society Announces Partners and Guest Jurors For Inaugural In Focus Fellowship Guest jurors include Deborah Anzinger, Susanne Fredricks, O Neil Lawrence, and Seph Rodney.by BWW News Desk The Jamaica Art Society has announced its cultural partners and guest jurors for the inaugural In Focus Fellowship. The ten organizations supporting JAS in its core mission to support the next generation of Jamaican art leaders include the following: The Armory Show, ARTERNAL, Artnet News, Association of Art Museum Curators, Brooklyn Museum, David Zwirner Gallery, Hyperallergic, National Gallery of Jamaica in Kingston, and the New Museum along with the MOMA/CCL International Curatorial Institute, along with The Museum of Modern Art/Center for Curatorial Leadership International Curatorial Institute, which welcomed the National Gallery of Jamaica s Chief Curator O Neil Lawrence, selected by the JAS, into its 2021 class.

What we ve learned from one year of Zoom University

If we have learned anything from the past year, it’s that Zoom University sucks. Online education is not comparable to in-person schooling. It never will be, no matter how high-speed our WiFi is or how well a professor can conduct a class remotely. We have felt the onset of stress and sadness early on in the pandemic, and now it’s in full swing. We have more time on our hands, but we couldn’t feel less motivated to get work done.
