SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Policeâs Traffic Investigations Unit is investigating a crash involving a pedestrian at Abercorn Street and Largo Drive on Savannahâs Southside, according to the department.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the accident. All lanes of Abercorn Street are closed in both directions to traffic between Mercy Boulevard and Largo Drive.
Savannah Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A single vehicle crash on Abercorn Street shut down two lanes in both the east and west directions near Mercy Boulevard on Sunday afternoon, according the Savannah Police. The closed lanes reopened later Sunday evening.
Ronald Nelson, 40, was traveling west on Abercorn Street around 3:45 p.m. Nelson lost control of his vehicle in the westbound lane of Abercorn Street west of Mercy Boulevard, and he crossed into multiple lanes. The vehicle struck a curb, flipped and left the roadway before hitting a utility poll and a tree, according to Savannah Police.
"Captain" Dan Johnson is in talks with the Racine Heritage Museum to donate artifacts related to shipwrecks that were found near Racine in Lake Michigan.
