Eid-el-Fitr: Karaye emirate set for Sallah durbar

A statement issued by Haruna Gunduwawa, the Information Officer to Karaye Emirate Council said the decision was reached after the approval of the state government. He said three historic durbars would be observed in the emirate including the Eid durbar, the Hawan Kutufi and the Hawan Qeqasa. “In the light of this development, all district heads of the emirate have been directed to mobilize village heads and horse riders to start moving to the Karaye town for the festivities from tomorrow Tuesday the 11th of May which is equivalent to the 29th of Ramadan.” The statement added that the ceremony would be conducted in strict compliance to COVID-19 protocols.
