In a rare use of numbers in Canadian media, many newspapers published tables showing Canada ranked anywhere from 40 to 52 place in per capita vaccinations (from ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations) among about 200 countries 25 of which were either small islands or parts of the United Kingdom, such as Wales, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.

This media negativity reached its peak with Tristin Hopper’s article in the National Post section of the London Free Press on Feb. 24 which stated that Canada has “ended up in a situation where you’ll be experiencing death and economic collapse for 30 weeks longer than any other country with similar resources.”
