Today is the last day of school at Knoxville. The district has gone since February without a case of COVID-19, and Superintendent Cassi Pearson thanks the community and everyone involved for their support over the past year.
“I would just like to thank our community, families, students, and especially the staff. It has been quite a year. We’re so grateful for everyone who helped celebrate graduation last weekend, and those who have supported our activities, our students, and our district as a whole. We have great support for our educational system, we appreciate that. We love that we have so many partners to help raise our children.”

The Knoxville School Board will hold another special meeting Tuesday. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says the purpose is to hire a new principal.
“On Monday, we’ll be interviewing for a West Elementary principal position. We’ve really enjoyed having Ryan Cline in that position the last few years, he’s done a phenomenal job. Due to some family needs, he and his wife are going to be relocating back to her hometown. We’re excited for them, but we’re going to miss them, and we want to thank Ryan for his service here. On Monday, we’ll be interviewing for his replacement, so we’ll have a special meeting on Tuesday to hopefully approve a contract that has been accepted for someone to fill that position.”
