Anambra Govt Inaugurates Use of COVID-19 Disinfectant Machines In Markets
Awka – In keeping with the Anambra state government commitment towards eradication and management of coronavirus pandemic, Governor Willie Obiano has approved the installation of solar powered disinfectant machines in all the major markets in the state.
On Monday, at Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, the State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Uche Okafor performed the official inauguration of the use of the machine.
Inaugurating the machines, Hon. Okafor said the initiative was borne out of the state government’s desire to safeguard the lives of citizens and residents of the state.

The Nigerian Government has ordered the closure of the headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Abuja.
The spokesperson of the agency, Kayode Adegoke, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
This directive was issued by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the NIMC will open 20 locations in the Federal Capital Territory to help reduce the crowd gathering at the commission’s headquarters to obtain their National Identity Numbers.

The Federal Government on Saturday ordered immediate closure of the headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission in Abuja.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, who gave the order, also directed the NIMC to open 20 locations in the Federal Capital Territory in order to halt the crowds that gather at the commission’s headquarters daily in a bid to get their National Identity Numbers.
NIMC spokesman, Kayode Adegoke, announced the closure of the commission’s headquarters in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said 20 centres were reactivated within the FCT to make the process of NIN enrolment much easier for applicants effective Monday, January 18, 2021.

The National Identity Management Commission has closed its headquarters in Abuja against all National Identity Number enrolment activities.
The move is not unconnected to discouraging large gatherings at the centre amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to NIMC Spokesman, Kayode Adegoke, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, gave the directive on Saturday.
Adegoke said the minister reactivated 20 other centers within the FCT to make the process of NIN enrolment much easier for applicants effective Monday, January 18 2021.
He advised members of the public, residents and visitors to the FCT wishing to enroll for NIN to use any of the 20 NIMC centers.
