STU students introduced to International Facility Management Association FEB 20, 2021 The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is pushing for the study of Facility Management as a major programme in universities in Ghana, especially in technical universities to enhance the training of more qualified professionals to properly manage public and private facilities. This came to light when some officials of IFMA met with students pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Technology, Construction Technology and Civil Engineering at the Sunyani Technical University. The meeting was to introduce the students to the Association and what they stand to gain upon becoming members in future.

Police launch manhunt for caretaker as Imo undergraduate dies

Punch Newspapers Sections Chidiebube Okeoma, Owerri The police in Imo State have launched a manhunt for a caretaker, whose name has not been ascertained, for allegedly killing a 100-level student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Anthony Chinweotito. The incident, which happened at the Ezinwanne Lodge, Nekede, caused tempers to flare in the area. The students of the institution went on the rampage and destroyed the windows and doors of the hostel. Our correspondent gathered that the caretaker, who is now on the run, had engaged in a heated argument with the occupants of the lodge over rent. While the students argued that concession should be given to them since they did not enjoy the rents they paid last year as a result of the several months of lockdown, which affected academic activities, the caretaker was said to have insisted that they must pay the new rents in full.

Clockworks Analytics Raises $8M in Growth Funding

Clockworks Analytics (fka KGS Buildings), a Somersville, MA-based cloud-based building analytics platform, raised an $8m funding round. The round, which brings total funding to date to approximately $13m, was led by Carom Growth Partners and Evans Capital Management, with participation from existing investor Schneider Electric. In conjunction with the funding, Evan Kornack of Carom Growth Partners and Bruce Evans of Evans Capital Management have also joined the Clockworks Analytics board of directors.  The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its product roadmap, to roll out a wide range of improvements in the coming months, including new business intelligence reporting.
