Masculinity In The Middle East: Confronting Stereotypes Through Photography

Posted on March 3, 2021 | Views: 595 cwebb2021-03-03T07:09:59-08:00 by Katy Scott: Terrorist. Misogynist. Fanatic. The portrayal of Arab men can often be one-dimensional and unflattering, particularly in Western media… But two female photographers have sought to confound these stereotypes. Design Week s most popular long reads of 2020

Design Week’s most popular long reads of 2020 This year, we saw how design intersected with some of 2020’s biggest stories – including Covid and Black Lives Matter – and helped people adapt and survive. December 16, 2020 12:40 pm As the world went into lockdown in March, many people faced a situation like no other. “I’ve been feeling pretty helpless watching the news,” Becky Wass wrote on Facebook. “I wanted to do something about it, so I’ve made a postcard that I’ll be posting to my older neighbours as this progresses.” The postcard was a simple piece of graphic design – asking people if they needed help picking up shopping, posting mail or if they simply wanted a friend phone call. “If just one person feels less lonely or isolated when aced with his pandemic, then I’ll feel better about it,” Wass added.
