Portland police are investigating four shooting incidents on Thursday, Feb. 18, including one where a bystander fired a gun a tow truck driver involved in a series of hit-and-run crashes.
At 11:47 a.m. Thursday, East Precinct officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6200 block of Southeast 97th Avenue. As officers were en route, they learned that someone fired a gun at a suspect vehicle related to a nearby crash, and that other reports of hit-and-runs involving other vehicles were coming in.

A tow truck driver and two people in a vehicle were shot late Wednesday and early Thursday.
Three people were wounded in two shootings.
The names of the victims were not immediately released. No suspect information was available, either.
In the first incident, police said a tow truck driver was shot in the leg late Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Northeast Portland.
According to police, the driver reportedly was shot when attempting to tow a car from the Menlo Park Apartments at 865 N.E. 122nd Ave. shortly before midnight. The suspect confronted the driver, fired a bullet, and then took off in the tow truck.

The family of Katherine Leadbetter and Matthew Field say they are forever heartbroken by the death of the couple and their unborn boy.
The couple was killed while walking their dog on Australia Day at Alexandra Hills, east of Brisbane, by an allegedly stolen car.
