Like many musical acts, Low Cut Connie had a full touring schedule planned for 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Now forced to quarantine, frontperson Adam Weiner decided to take to his (spare) South Philadelphia bedroom and broadcast live. With the aid of guitarist Will Donnelly, Weiner has done twice weekly shows for more than a year. He’s named the program and its attendees
Donnelly spent a year commuting from Philly to Wilmington while working as a bartender at the Oddity Bar, under the former management of Pat McCutcheon and Andrea McCauley. It was like the first bartending job that I had, and they were very accepting of someone being able to leave and come back, and go on tour and do stuff like that, he said. They were very supportive of it.”
Donnelly, who has upcoming shows in Red Bank and Jersey City, New Jersey; Philly, New York and D.C. (most of which are in the fall), spoke to The News Journal about how he whipped up “Tough Cookies.”
