Cox and Bowes were officially appointed at the SD48 board of education meeting on March 12. They will begin their new roles starting Aug.1, 2014. The positions became available after WSS s current principal, Beverley Oakley, decided to move to a part-time administrative job. Every leader has strengths that are different than the leader that came before them, said SD48 superintendent Lisa McCullough, noting Cox brings with him a strong technological background and Bowes is particularly passionate about student leadership. Both Nolan and Krista are extremely people centred, they really like working with parents and teachers and their focus is really on the human factor.
