SAA announces 2021 Annual Juried Show award winners

The Scituate Arts Association announced 21 award winners at the SAA’s Annual Juried Show.
This year’s awards are being shared on the SAA and Gallery websites at https://scituateartsassociation.com and https://frontstreetartgallery.com, respectively, as large gatherings are still not an option due to COVID-19.
On April 7, awards totaling over $1,000 were selected. The prizes were made possible by the event’s three business supporters: Janet Cornacchio and Jack Conway, of Scituate, and Coastal Heritage Bank and Frame Center, of Hanover.
The accepted works and award winners were chosen by jurors Michelle Clarke, a Hanover artist and Best in Show winner at the SAA s 2019 Juried Show; Nan Daly, whose memories of growing up along the Hudson and in the Catskills of New York provide much of the imagery of her abstract paintings; and Margaret McWethy, who is an impressionist painter with

WEYMOUTH – A Cambridge man was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning at the Mastlight apartment complex in Union Point, site of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station.
Two other men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and another was hospitalized for other medical reasons, said Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, who was at the scene Sunday morning. No one was in custody for the shooting as of about 9 a.m.
The victim killed was identified Sunday night as Eric C. Small, 30, of Cambridge.
Police received calls about the shooting starting at 2:49 a.m. The Mastlight apartment complex is on Patriot Parkway in South Weymouth.
