Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Membership Celebration  The Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce’s 77th annual Membership Meeting was recently held honoring local and well-deserved award recipients: 2020 Hospitality Person of the Year, Shannon Paiva of Extended Stay America. 2020 Coastal Carolina Community College Civic Honoree, Dr. Richard Woodruff, Jacksonville City Manager. 2020 Marine Chevrolet Cadillac Woman of the Year, April Clark. 2020 Sanders Ford Inc. Golden Eagle Man of the Year, David Heatherly, President of Coastal Carolina Community College.  UA president’s list  The following area students were recently named to the president’s list at the University of Alabama for fall 2020 semester: Arriyanna Brooks of Jacksonville and Katherine Lassiter of Newport.

BLET achievement awards During the recent Onslow Crime Stoppers Awards Banquet, JPD officer James H. Springfield and Cody J. Irish were presented the Basic Law Enforcement Training Superior Achievement Award. Springfield was the 2020 spring class graduate and Irish was the 2020 fall class graduate at Coastal Carolina Commu
