WASHINGTON – Today, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate the following seven individuals to serve in key roles:

Rear Adm. Ben Reynolds is a native of Jones, Oklahoma and a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics.  He also holds master’s degrees in National Security and Strategy from the National War College; Systems Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School; and International Affairs from George Washington University.
Reynolds commanded Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific and the Island Knights of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Five (HSC-25) in Guam, deploying twice to Iraq while at HSC-25.  Previous operational assignments include tactics officer in Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Six (HC-6), deploying in support of Balkans and African operations. He was tactics officer and maintenance officer in Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Six (HSC-26) where he deployed in support of Haiti relief operations, as well as part of NATO Standing Naval Forces. ....

Thomas W. Harker assumed duties as the Acting Secretary of the Navy Jan. 20, 2021. Previously, he was performing the duties of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller). Harker was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller) Jan. 2, 2018.
Tom Harker graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1990 and received an MBA from the University of Miami in 2000. A 20 year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, his career was marked by operational success including multi-ton drug seizures on the high seas. Ashore, he was assigned positions of increasing responsibility in budget, acquisition, internal controls, audit readiness and financial reporting. His leadership of the Coast Guard audit readiness and internal control program contributed to the Department of Homeland Security moving from 10 successive disclaimers to a clean audit opinion.
