May 1, 2021 AUSTINTOWN Delores J. Anzelmo, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 29, 2021, at The Woodlands at AustinWoods, following a lengthy struggle with dementia. Delores was born March 27, 1937, in Youngstown, the youngest of 12 children born to Harold LeRoy Hinkson and Lydia Brown Hinkson. She attended South High School and lived her life in this area. Mrs. Anzelmo was very active and always kept busy. Before her marriage, she worked for the Robert Hall Clothing Store and for the Mahoning County Treasurer’s office. In her younger years, she was also a poll worker for the Mahoning County Board of Elections, was a member of the Austintown PTA and volunteered for the Easter Seals Amplyopia program screening in area preschools.

Mar 15, 2021 CANFIELD Susan “Suzie” Bellatto, 89, of Canfield, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Friday, March 12, 2021. Susan “Suzie” was the cherished daughter of Allen and Hellen Gustafson, born Sept. 15, 1931. She was a lifelong resident of Austintown. Suzie was kind and loving and accepted Christ as her personal savior. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Louis; a son, Geno (Kim) Bellatto of Canfield; grandson, Anthony (Katlin) Bellatto of Champion and a brother, Ken (Barb) Gustafson of Orlando, Fla.; and her many kitties. Suzie was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to give many thanks to those who took such loving care of her “in her final months,” including Hospice of the Valley, Comfort Keepers and Camille, Michelle, Kim, Diane and Crystal.

H Douglas Wilcox 1950-2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

AUSTINTOWN H. Douglas Wilcox, 70, peacefully passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Doug was born Sept. 6, 1950, the only son of Harrison Burky and Helen McClure Wilcox. He was a lifetime resident of Austintown and a member of Austintown Community Church. While growing up in the church, an important part of his life was scouting. He worked hard to receive his God and Country award and subsequently his Eagle Scout award. He enjoyed reading, outdoor activities, being with friends and crafts. Several of his creations received blue-ribbon awards at the Canfield Fair. He was a member of the World War II Heritage Society, Mahoning County Retired Teachers, Ohio Education Association, the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, M Club of Mount Union, 33rd Degree Club of the Valley of Youngstown and the Austintown Friends of the Public Library. Doug served as vice president and program chairman for the Friends for 11 years.
