President Joe Biden said Wednesday that US troops could stay in Afghanistan beyond their August 31 withdrawal deadline if necessary to evacuate all Americans from the country.

Joe Biden is set to swear-in as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday, with the message of unity and the enormous task of healing a bitterly divided country. Four years after he left the Beltway for his hometown in Delaware, Biden returned to Washington DC a day before his swearing-in. Before boarding a private plane for Joint Air Force Base Andrews on his way to Washington DC, Biden said, âI am honoured to be your next President and Commander in Chief. I will always be a proud son of the state of Delaware.

Kamala Harris were inaugurated as U.S. President and Vice President, respectively, on Jan. 20 in Washington, DC. It was a historic ceremony in which Kamala became not only the first woman to be Vice President, but also the first Black woman and first South Asian-American woman in the role. In his inauguration speech, Joe urged Americans to come together under what they have in common while working toward a more perfect union and to reject hatred, bigotry, demonization and divisive rhetoric so they can overcome their challenges.
