Important Buildings O hio University’s main campus is home to many important buildings that students should get familiar with during their time in Athens. Since there are many buildings that offer different services, it can get confusing to know what is offered at which building. Here are a few buildings that incoming students can get familiar with before arriving on campus:
Alden Library
Alden Library, located at 30 Park Place, gives students a place to work and study throughout the school year. Alden has many things to offer students, including computers and other devices, borrowing materials, meeting spaces and even advising sessions at the Allen Student Advising Center.

Just like any other community, however, there are a few figures in Athens who stand out from the crowd. From politicians to university administrators, here are a few faces students should familiarize themselves with before hitting the bricks this fall:
Duane Nellis

MARIETTA, OH With any luck, the rash of bomb threats here in Washington County are over. An arrest was made in Georgia and an 18-year-old man by the name Nicholas John Francis Hall is behind bars waiting for extradition. Here is a news release from the Washington County Sheriff s Office.

The Ohio University Police Department is announcing the retirement of Lt. Eric Hoskinson after over 25 years of service to the Ohio University community. Hoskinson’s last day will be Monday, May 31, 2021.
Hoskinson will have a total of over 28 years of law enforcement service, having previously worked for the Orange County (Calif.) Sheriff’s Department and the Perry County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office. Hoskinson is also well known as a proud former Marine, having served in the Gulf War in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm as well as in Somalia as part of Operation Restore Hope.
During his time at OUPD, Hoskinson worked in numerous roles including those of field training officer, firearms instructor, SWAT commander, and active shooter instructor, to name a few. Hoskinson was promoted to sergeant in 2007 and then to lieutenant in 2010. As a lieutenant, Hoskinson commanded first watch (day shift), supervised OUPD’s community relations initiatives, led the expl
