Grand Teton National Park expands services after spring swell on Teton Park Road

Lured by warm temps and smooth pavement without cars, outdoor enthusiasts (and their dogs) are flocking to Grand Teton National Park. A 14-mile section of Teton Park Road opened last month to non-motorized recreation and has already seen so many visitors the park is expanding services to meet demand. The park has increased parking access between the Taggart Lake Trailhead and Cottonwood Picnic Area and added additional portable restrooms, although strong winds tossed some of them over on Saturday. They also plan to add a staffed mobile information trailer, according to a recent press release. Since dogs aren’t allowed on park trails, the road is a rare opportunity for park visitors to stretch their legs alongside four-legged friends.

Amazon apologizes to Rep Mark Pocan for incorrect tweet about workers peeing in bottles

Amazon is apologizing to U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan after directing an “incorrect” tweet at the Black Earth Democrat last week about whether employees of the online retail behemoth need to use bottles to relieve themselves. Last week — as an attempt to unionize an Amazon warehouse in Alabama was underway — Pocan responded on Twitter to an Amazon executive who called the business a “progressive workplace,” arguing Amazon engages in union-busting and makes “workers urinate in water bottles.” In response to Pocan’s comment, a tweet from one of Amazon’s Twitter accounts said: “You don’t really believe the peeing in bottles thing, do you? If that were true, nobody would work for us.”
