Daniel Burman, the content director at The Mediapro Studio in the U.S., who is also a producer, screenwriter and director, talks about original production development in Latin America and the company’s co-production partners.
In 2014, the executive created Oficina Burman, a company looking to becoming a content and production factory for the television industry and new platforms in the international market. In early 2017, Oficina Burman joined The Mediapro Studio. Burman is currently also CEO at Oficina Burman. In this interview with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor of

But to assume this genre of TV has stood still over the years would be a mistake, as the groundbreaking and Rose d’Or-winning Argentinian telenovela Pequeña Victoria (Victoria Small) – which stars multiple trans actresses – highlights.
The telenovela form continues to evolve and remains a bastion of Latin American cultural exports, drawing sales for Lat Am companies from broadcasters around the world while fending off stiff competition from a host of other countries and regions.
