BHUBANESWAR: The health and family welfare department has issued an advisory for private laboratories after getting complaints from the people against these labs. In order to conduct Covid-19 testing in a smooth and hassle free manner through RT-PCR method, this advisory will help.
The department has observed that some private labs are collecting swabs from residence of the suspected Covid cases to conduct RT-PCR tests and collecting high charges. There are also complaints about non-submission of reports in time.

Move to decongest government health facilities
The Odisha government on Thursday directed all private hospitals to reserve 50% of their beds for admitting COVID-19 patients and charge reasonable cost.
The government has fixed treatment cost to be charged by private hospitals. The 50% reservation will also be applicable to intensive care unit and high density unit beds. The government came up with instruction in order to decongest government health facilities.
