Nevada County police blotter: Caller reports shots fired nearby, bullets coming through trees

Friday 7:48 a.m. A caller from Hidden Valley Road reported their husband was walking their dog when the dog was attacked by a neighbor’s dogs. Reporting party stated their dog was injured and husband possibly had broken foot. 9:37 a.m. A caller from Kenebec Court requested a bat his cat brought in the house be tested. 9:51 a.m. A caller from Burjer Road reported a black SUV trespassing on property and backed into one of their vehicles. 10:42 a.m. A caller from Ocelot Drive reported a child was bitten by a gopher. 11:52 a.m. A caller from Highway 174 requested a welfare check on a dog that appeared not well taken care of.

Farmington-area drivers can expect major road projects in 2021

It s that time of year again. Those who live in or drive through Farmington and Farmington Hills can expect a few major road improvement projects as temperatures warm up. Once projects begin in April and May, the road work season generally stretches into November.  Here s what drivers can look out for this construction season: Farmington Hills A mild winter and a warm, dry spring allowed Farmington Hills to finish its road improvements ahead of schedule in 2020. The city is hoping for a repeat this year.  “If anything, last year we were able to complete our projects in record time because there weren’t any people really using the roadways, said Karen Mondora, the city s director of public services. We had a great year last year and we’re off to an early start again this year so we’re optimistic that we’ll have success again.”

Nevada County police blotter: Caller reports conflict over dogs being off leash

Friday 12:52 p.m. A caller from a business on Manion Canyon Road reported an ongoing issue with a home owner screaming at their delivery drivers and driving erratically when the their trucks are in the area, almost causing collisions. The home owner also called, informing that they had repeatedly called the company to complain about their delivery drivers’ speed. Advice was provided to both parties. 1:22 p.m. A caller from Jackass Flats Road, near Tyler Foote Crossing Road, reported a vehicle traveling over 100 miles per hour. 1:38 p.m. A caller from Highway 49, near Alta Sierra Drive, reported a vehicle unable to maintain lanes and varying speeds.

Nevada County police blotter: Panhandling gypsies reported

GRASS VALLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT Thursday 11:37 a.m. A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported panhandling gypsies. They were moving on. At 12:33 p.m., they were reported in the intersection of Freeman Lane and West McKnight Way. At 1:30 p.m., the gypsy panhandlers were reported in the 100 block of West McKnight Way and a citation was issued. 12:30 p.m. A caller from the 500 block of Mill Street reported finding drugs in a rental unit. 12:45 p.m. A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported his door had been broken down. 7:04 p.m. A caller from West Main and South Church streets reported a drunken woman walking in the road and stumbling. Another caller reported the woman in the middle of the road, trying to hitchhike. She could not be located.
