ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, after assuming the post of Chairman NAB, introduced several reforms in the bureau, which led to a record improvement in its overall performance as comparing to past 17 years.
The NAB though its official statement on Saturday stated that the zero tolerance policy against corruption was characterized by the fact that since October 2017, the NAB under Justice Javed Iqbal recovered Rs 533 billion directly and indirectly from corrupt elements while in the 17 years from the establishment of NAB to 2016, NAB was able to recover only Rs 287 billion.

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi, has summoned a former judge of the Sindh High Court and renowned lawyer in a case of alleged corruption of millions of rupees in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Karachi.
On July 1, 2021, a regional board meeting of the NAB Karachi had also approved the reference against the said KMC Employees Cooperative Housing Society Karachi and others.

NAB summons Pervez Malik in sugar subsidy scam

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi has paced up investigations into a sugar subsidy scam and summoned PML-N leader and ex-commerce minister Pervez Malik today (Friday). According to sources, the Combined Investigation Team of the NAB Rawalpindi has asked Pervez Malik to bring the record with regard to subsidy of sugar. The sources said the CIT has directed Pervez Malik to bring the record of ECC meetings and fixing of the prices of sugar.
The NAB Rawalpindi has already summoned Provincial Minister Moshin Leghari on May 4 and asked him to bring the record of sugar subsidy from the year 2018 and 2019. The sources said the CIT has directed Leghari to bring the record of sugar export permission.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi has summoned two senior joint secretaries of the Finance Division and the Ministry of Industries and Commerce in an ongoing investigation into a sugar subsidy scam today (Thursday).
The NAB Rawalpindi has summoned Senior Joint Secretary Finance Division Zahoor Ahmed and Joint Secretary Ministry of Industries Zarar Ahmed in the sugar subsidy scam. Ex-commerce secretary Younas Dagha did not appear before the Combined Investigation Team of the NAB Rawalpindi investigating the sugar subsidy scam. It is expected that another notice for summoning him will be served in few days.
