GLOBALG.A.P. has successfully achieved recognition against Global Food Safety Initiative’s Benchmarking Requirements Version 2020.1. The recognition encompasses Produce Handling Assurance certification program.
The PHA certification program is available to on-farm and stand-alone post-harvest handling facilities around the world. It provides food-safety management certification of post-harvest activities, such as cooling, packing, re-packing, handling, and storage of crops for consumption. The PHA certification program incorporates United States Food Safety Modernization Act requirements from both the Produce Safety Rule and the Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule, where applicable.

Integrated Farm Assurance Standard applied to Walmart pollinator commitments
Over the past year, The Sustainability Consortium has hosted a working group to harmonize criteria for Responsible Pest Management (RPM) best practices in agriculture. This work resulted in the development of the RPM Framework and User Guide. The RPM Framework supports producers in integrating responsible pest management practices and aligns industry standards across certification and compliance programs, including GLOBALG.A.P. and other industry leaders.
Through this working group, retailers were able to explore their role in implementing best practices. Walmart, together with the support of the IPM Institute of North America, focused on the biodiversity elements of the RPM Framework, especially with regard to pollinators. Walmart believes:
