Funeral Services for Altha “Ann” Brown, age 89 of University Park, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, at the Omega Church in Oskaloosa. Burial will take place in the University Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, at the Bates Funeral Chapel with family present from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. to greet relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Holiness Association of the Omega Church. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

On Thursday morning, LCG observed a National Day of Prayer inviting leaders from several religious groups and denominations to take part.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May and seeks to mobilize unified public prayer for America. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
LCG says they recognize the importance of prayer and spiritual guidance both in our public affairs and in the private lives of citizens.

GUILFORD, CT The Connecticut Green Bank is honoring a Guilford building company for its clean energy work on a New Haven church.
Complete Building and Mechanicals of Guilford and Omega Church in New Haven were honored with a PACEsetter Award for their HVAC and lighting project – Complete Building and Mechanicals first C-PACE project - which will help the Church maintain safe, healthy operations year-round, the Bank said in a news release.
The Connecticut Green Bank s PACEsetter Awards acknowledge contractors, building owners and other stakeholders who are advancing the green energy movement through C-PACE, and whose leadership establishes a pace for others in their field to follow, the Green Bank said in a news release.
