You Can Now Apply for an Impact Grant with United Way
Impact Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000 with funding intended to strengthen families in United Way of Greater Fall River’s service area: Fall River, Westport, Assonet, Somerset, Swansea, Tiverton, and Little Compton. Proposals must align with United Way’s key pillars of focus: health, education, financial stability, and basic needs.
Preference will be given to innovative programs that focus on prevention, involve collaboration or capacity building, and demonstrate measurable effectiveness. Agencies are encouraged to use the Impact Grant Rubric found on the United Way website to guide their request.

SouthCoast Frontline Worker Wins Free Roof Giveaway for 2021
Care Free Homes, Inc. surprised Hilda Lopes of New Bedford with a new roof; the frontline worker was a finalist in their annual New Year, New Roof Giveaway for 2021.
Neighbors, friends, and family nominated deserving, in-need homeowners from Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island for the roof giveaway earlier this month. Care Free Homes selected five finalists from the nominees who demonstrated selfless service and outstanding citizenship. The community voted online to choose the winner. Five Finalists Selected for the 2021 New Year, New Roof Giveaway
Care Free Homes, Inc., announced the finalists of their 6th Annual New Year, New Roof Giveaway; the community will vote online now through January 15 to choose the winner of a GAF roof.
Earlier this month, communities from Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts nominated deserving, in-need homeowners to be recipients of a GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system at absolutely no cost. Care Free Homes, Inc. selected five finalists who will advance to the voting stage. The five finalists include:
