Hot FM Attorney General Paxton’s team convinced the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to reject a Texas Democratic Party lawsuit trying to reinstate “pop-up” voting, where Democrats opened temporary polling places to benefit their voters at the expense of all Texans.
The Democratic Party and its plaintiffs cannot sue to stop HB 1888, a bill passed to end this electioneering by requiring local election officials to keep temporary polling places open for longer hours so that all Texans, and not just preferred Democratic voters, could access them. The Fifth Circuit has directed the district court to dismiss the Democrats’ challenges.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â In honor of Justice Joseph W. Hatchett, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Monday, May 10, 2021.
Justice Joseph W. Hatchett passed away on Friday, April 30.
Gov. DeSantis press office issued the following statement: Between graduating from Florida A&M University and beginning law school at Howard University, Justice Hatchett served two years as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. He was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court by Governor Reubin Askew in 1975, where he became the first African American to serve on Floridaâs highest court.

Justice Joseph W. Hatchett passed away on Friday, April 30. Between graduating from Florida A&M University and beginning law school at Howard University, Justice Hatchett served two years as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. He was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court by Governor Reubin Askew in 1975, where he became the first African American to serve on Florida’s highest court. Almost four years later, President Jimmy Carter appointed him to the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, making him the first African American to serve on a federal appeals court in the Deep South. Earlier this year, the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society bestowed on Justice Hatchett its Lifetime Achievement Award.
