We find out Indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions will be permitted from May 17 as England and Wales enter step three of the roadmap out of lockdown. This follows Boris Johnson s announcement that indoor socialising and dining will be permitted in step three. Weddings and civil partnerships will be permitted 30 guests in Covid-19 secure venues, and receptions can hold 30 people in either an indoor or outdoor venue. For the first time, this also includes private gardens but still excludes private homes.  From May 17, people will also be permitted to hug again, provided they use common sense , although social distancing is still the general rule.

As couples and wedding suppliers anxiously await the publishing of Stage 3 guidelines on weddings, a government spokesperson told HuffPost dancing will “be advised against” due to the increased risk of transmission from sustained physical and close contact. The only exception to this is the couple’s first dance. Dance floors and other spaces used for dancing must remain closed under the current regulations, unless repurposed to facilitate additional customer seating and enable social distancing.
