The Interior Ministry announced on an agreement reached with the EU Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM) to draft and adopt a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Interior Minister Khaled Mazen reaffirmed, alongside the head of the European Union mission, Natalina Cea, the advancement of the two sides’ understandings, as well as the debate and exchange of views on various agreed-upon projects aimed at strengthening the Ministry’s skills in a number of critical disciplines.

On Thursday, February 25
th, 2021,The HNEC Chairman Dr. Emad Al-Sayah, met the European Union’s Ambassador to Libya, H.E. Mr. Jose Antonio Sabadell, as part of the international community’s support for the political process in Libya.
During the meeting, which took place at the HNEC Board office, they reviewed the developments of the electoral process according to the current political scene, and the HNEC’s readiness to fulfill its responsibilities in consolidating the democratic path.
Further, they discussed the technical and advisory support provided by the European Union mission through the “PEPOL” Project, which is supervised by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the cooperation with the Mission in observing elections, trying to get advantage of the international experience in this field.
