Congresswoman Hinson supports removing Wyoming Congresswoman from leadership
Ashley Hinson
Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson says she supports removing Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney from her Republican leadership post and replacing her with New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
Cheney became a target for removal after voting to impeach President Donald Trump. Hinson says it’s distracting to the party. “Our party leadership has to be focused solely on taking back the House majority in 2022. I think that is the only way we can stop the destructive liberal agenda being pushed by Speaker Pelosi and by President Biden right now,” Hinson says. “If Republicans are divided and not focusing all our efforts against these radical policies, then Speaker Pelosi will remain in power,” Hinson says.

Neal Smith, a Democrat from Des Moines, served 36 years on the Appropriations Committee and Tom Latham, a Republican who now lives in Clive, was a member for 20 years.

Iowa Congresswoman Ashley Hinson announced Friday that she would oppose any effort to impeach President Trump in the final days of his presidency.
You can read her full statement below: If the House tries to impeach President Trump over the next two weeks, I will oppose this effort. We don’t need any further division right now. As President Trump said last night, he is fully supporting the peaceful transition of power to President-Elect Joe Biden, she said in a statement. Even though President Trump will no longer be in office, I’m never going to stop advocating for the policies he championed. From cutting taxes, to installing a record number of conservative justices, defending the unborn, and rolling back harmful regulations President Trump has done a lot for hardworking Americans. I am committed to continuing to fight for
