Mayco member for community safety and health Zahid Badroodien said the City s fire crew from Strand received a call at 5.37am and crews from Somerset West and Sir Lowry s Pass were dispatched. He said the first arriving officer informed the control that the building was alight and the fire was extinguished at 8.02am. Badroodien said there was currently limited information on the incident as the City was waiting for the fire report to be issued once the inspection was completed.
