Jack The Giant, a talented thoroughbred who amassed almost £200,000 in winnings on the racecourse and then went on to claim all of the major RoR titles in the show ring, has been put down at the age of 19.
The 16.3hh son of Giant’s Causeway had a hugely successful career when in training with Nicky Henderson, claiming one win on flat, three over hurdles and five steeplechasing, as well as numerous other Group 1 placings.

The betting is headed for the Topham by Livelovelaugh for Willie and Patrick Mullins in the Rich Ricci silks and he is justifiably occupying that position, it seems.Â
He is 11 years old now but has twice run well in competitive handicaps at Leopardstown recently and merits plenty of respect back at a course where he went well for a long way in the 2019 Grand National before failing to stay the marathon trip.Â

DUSART, who can be backed at 9/4 to land the Top Novices’ Hurdle (2:20pm), could be a future star, and this isn’t the strongest of Grade Ones.
He’s only had the one start so plenty is taken on trust, but that was a convincing win over Supreme fourth and Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory on good ground at Newbury back in November and he could just be a cut above these.
