As things start to feel more normal and open back up, some of our favorite West Michigan events are back this summer, and new ones are popping up: Like WeDiscover Festival coming to Downtown Muskegon and the beachfront of Lake Michigan July 2-4, 2021.
Event organizers describe WeDiscover Festival as a culmination of forward thinking producers, creators, and innovators that explore hidden-gem locations and fuse this with global entertainment and headliner talent.
The City of Muskegon, Luxury Rally Club (LRC), and Hot Import Nights (HIN) have worked together to make WeDiscover Festival happen in Muskegon.
Before becoming a hotelier, the Groot Hospitality founder saw his fortunes rise in Miami Beach s nightlife scene, operating LIV at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach and Story, which opened in the former Opium Garden space. Later, Grutman expanded his portfolio opening a string of restaurants that feature the nightlife flourishes he d become known for, including Komodo, Swan, and Papi Steak. The opening of Goodtime Hotel feels like the logical next step for the 46-year-old.
Grutman admits the project has been “in the works for some time, so I’m happy we are finally able to welcome guests.”

An accused gang member with a lengthy history of drug, stolen vehicle and gang charges is being held on $2 million bail following a Thursday arrest on murder charges.
Treasure Parsons, 21, was also charged with gun possession and conspiracy related to the March 16 shooting death of 28-year-old Demier Chambers.
Police were called to the 700 block of N. Washington St. just after 8:30 p.m. for reports of the shooting.
There, police found Chambers injured. Paramedics took him to a local hospital, where he died.
