WASHINGTON - The Boeing Co. has agreed to pay $2.5 billion in penalties and compensation to resolve a criminal charge of defrauding the U.S. during the certification of the 737 Max aircraft that was later grounded after two deadly crashes.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced the agreement Thursday after filing a criminal charge against Boeing of conspiring to defraud the Federal Aviation Administration during the initial Max evaluation and certification.
“The tragic crashes of Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 exposed fraudulent and deceptive conduct by employees of one of the world’s leading commercial airplane manufacturers,” said Acting Assistant U.S. Attorney General David P. Eleven Meth And Cocaine Traffickers Nabbed In Amarillo
Interstate 40 brings many tourists and travelers passing through our quaint city. That same highway brings a plethora of drugs and illegal activity through it as well. The Drug Enforcement Agency held a raid that rounded up 11 alleged drug traffickers who have been arrested and charged in Amarillo, announced U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas Erin Nealy Cox.
During the raid, officials seized more than 25 guns, drugs and cash.
The majority of the defendants made their first plea Wednesday morning before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lee Ann Reno.
