When you talk about track and field, you usually think about it as an individual sport. Many consider it as a team sport, too. For the Genoa boys team, it took teamwork to win the Northern Buckeye Conference title, scoring 139 points to defeat runner-up Eastwood (132). “We talk about team culture a lot at the G,” said Genoa coach Luke Hodulik. “We do a questionnaire at the beginning of the season and ask the kids what they want the team identity to be.

Genoa baseball returns 12 letter winners from a team that went 14-8 in 2019. They include junior first baseman and pitcher Seth Witt, who was first team All-NBC as a freshman. Seniors joining Witt include second baseman and pitcher Joey Large, third basemen and pitchers Jacob Emerson and Cole Nissen, catcher and first baseman Tommy Giles, outfielders Zack Buhrow and Devin D’Emilio and outfielder and catcher Connor Lagrange. Large has already committed to playing at Defiance College next year.
