Because of his recommendation, the County Council will not be meeting on April 9 to discuss an extension. “The data is looking very positive. New cases of COVID-19 are decreasing, and each week Salt Lake County is vaccinating tens of thousands of residents, bringing us closer to the end of this pandemic,” Salt Lake County Council Chair Steve DeBry.

The state has now vaccinated more than 1 million people with at least one dose of one of the various coronavirus vaccines available. One of the men killed was from Salt Lake County and was between 45 and 64 while the other was a man in Washington County, aged 64 to 84 and not hospitalized at the time of his death.
