According to family sources, Fani-Kayode, who may soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) six years after he left for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is financially down and struggling to maintain his extravagant lifestyle.

On 6th January, 2021, three photo journalists with PUNCH, Leadership and Sun newspapers were assaulted while carring out their duty by the officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps stationed at the headquarters of the National Identity Management Commission in Abuja. The security officers grabbed their cameras and deleted all the pictures after damaging the camera of one of the journalists.
