Toni Morrison died on 5 August at the age of 88 as a result of pneumonia-related complications.
In 1993, she became the first African-American woman to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature and she won a Pulitzer Prize in 1988 for her classic work Beloved.
Morrison was a towering literary figure. New Frame asked writers who were influenced by Morrison to share what her work meant for them.
