A família de Henrietta Lacks, uma afro-americana cujas células, extraídas sem seu conhecimento, revolucionaram a medicina, anunciou nesta quinta-feira (29) a intenção de apresentar uma denúncia contra grupos farmacêuticos que tiraram proveito das amostras. Têm usado suas células há 70 anos e a família Lacks não recebeu nada em troca deste roubo , disse sua neta, Kimberly Lacks, em coletiva de imprensa. Foi tratada como um rato de laboratório, como se não fosse humana, como se não tivesse família , continuou, exigindo justiça por este tratamento racista e pouco ético .
