For some mothers, Motherâs Day is a time for celebration; for others, itâs a yearly reminder of milestones missed and opportunities lost to the most unjust of circumstances. Many of the women who have been helped by the Womenâs Prison Association (WPA), the nationâs first organization for women impacted by incarceration, have painful memories of spending Motherâs Day and other holidays locked up and away from family. 80% of women in jail are mothers, and most are primary caregivers for their children, but the prison systemâbuilt, as it is, upon isolation and family separationâfrequently forces women to choose between serving their sentences and being active participants in their childrenâs lives.

PETALING JAYA, Dec 31 ― It has been a tough year around the world, with Covid-19.
Few heroes emerged, like Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah who made a name among Malaysians for his leadership role in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
Much of the attention online however, revolved around former Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 winner Samantha Katie James who was one of the most talked about names after Malaysians took her to task for racist social media posts on the BLM movement in the United States, that also angered the online community worldwide.
