ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A 20-year-old has not been seen for nearly two weeks.
Juan Munoz s vehicle was found abandoned at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge near Taos on Feb. 21.
Since then, New Mexico State Police, Munoz s family and friends have been searching the area. State police went in with drones and the helicopter, said Juan s aunt, Miriam Munoz. We hired the rafters to take the, it was a 16-mile route, I guess you can say that, they took, and they didn t find anything either.
Juan s family said he was last seen Feb. 20 at the National Guard Armory in Rio Rancho.
Grant funds to aid immunization efforts
A pair of Texas Department of State Health Services grants are slated to aid immunization efforts here, with regard to COVID-19 and vaccine-preventable diseases.
The Amarillo City Council has approved the acceptance of a $99,866 grant award from the Texas DSHS to fund COVID-19 vaccination efforts. The project narrative notes multiple city of Amarillo departments are involved in the effort to provide the vaccine via the mass vaccination clinic. And the Amarillo Public Health Department would ensure providers in Potter and Randall counties have access to information they need to be successful, adding the department will designate a COVID-19 point of contact for providers and potential providers.
HAINES CITY Micala Santiago, 7, and her brother Noah, 4, climbed into their mother’s car after school Wednesday, moments after volunteers from the Polk County Public Schools’ IT department piled a Christmas dinner, toys, and clothes into the car’s trunk in time for a Feliz Navidad at the Santiago home next week.
The students at Eastside Elementary School in Haines City are benefitting from an annual program the district s IT department hosts each year the Kiddie Christmas Holiday Giveaway. Department employees raise between $4,000 and $7,000 each year in order to buy toys, books, a board game, clothes and bicycles for each student in one school s pre-kindergarten class.
