Elizabeth Theriot, 36, is charged with possession of Xanax, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said. As a deputy was patrolling La. 1 Monday morning, he saw a car parked on the southbound shoulder with the driver slumped over the steering wheel, authorities said. The driver, identified as Theriot, gave conflicting reasons for being parked there and showed “outward signs consistent with illegal drug activity.” After getting permission to search the car, the deputy found a quantity of Xanax pills, the Sheriff’s Office said. Theriot was taken into custody and was booked into the Assumption Parish jail, where she later posted a $15,000 bond. ....
