The Star Valley Lady Braves faced off against the Cheyenne Central Indians at 9 a.m in the Ford Wyoming Center in the Consolation Bracket of the 4A State Girls Tournament. It was a tight finish with the Lincoln County team winning 39-38. Star Valley led for the majority of the game with their largest cushion of nine points at the half.
McKenna Brog had a big game as she finished with 15 points and also played key defense on Central’s leading scorer, Baylee Delbridge who came into the game averaging over 16 points per game.
ROCK SPRINGS The Rock Springs High School Tigers and Lady Tigers basketball teams both lost their games against Campbell County during the second day of competition at the Flaming Gorge Classic Tournament.
During the Tigers’ game, the team trailed the Campbell County Camels throughout the game. However, in the third quarter, the Tigers went on a run and ended up pulling ahead of the Camels. The were on top at the end of the third quarter, 47-43.
In fourth-quarter play, the Camels rallied to take the lead back and maintain that lead. The Tigers didn’t stop fighting, but still lost the game, 67-61. The Tigers didn’t fair very well at the tournament on Friday when they lost to Thunder Basin, 80-51.
GREEN RIVER The Green River Wolves split games against Campbell County on Friday night in the opening games of the Flaming Gorge Classic Tournament.
The Lady Wolves played first, upsetting #5 Campbell County 44-42. A last second three-point attempt by the Lady Camels bounced off the rim, giving Green River its second win of the season. Stout defense and three-point shooting helped elevate the Lady Wolves over Campbell County.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves are set to take on the Kelly Walsh Lady Trojans at 1 pm at Green River High School.

The Green River Wolves fell to the #5 Campbell County Camels 79-70, dropping the Wolves to an overall record of 1-1.
